Heru of Mexico

Ancestor José María Morelos y Pavón

Born :1765
Crossed over:1815

Born on this day was this Afro-Mexican priest, soldier, abolitionist, and an early leader of Mexico's struggle for independence from Spain.

He is a national hero of Mexico.. He was, a liberal Catholic priest. Joining the revolution (1810), he conducted a brilliant campaign in the south and after the execution of Hidalgo he became insurrectionary chief. He defended Cuautla against Calleja del Rey for several months, and then cut through the siege. After taking Orizaba and Oaxaca (1812) in a brilliant engagement, Morelos captured Acapulco (1813).

The Congress of Chilpancingo, convened in 1813 under his protection, elected him generalissimo with the powers of chief executive. Late in 1813 his forces were routed at Valladolid (later named Morelia in his honor) by Iturbide and were later again defeated.

In 1815, Morelos was captured by the Spanish forces and shot as a traitor at the village of San Cristybal Ecatepec. His trusted lieutenants Vicente Guerrero and Guadalupe Victoria continued the fight after passing.

earthquake follows annular eclipse

Two earthquakes have struck the twin Republic of Trinidad & Tobago plus neighbouring islands of the Caribbean. Alarmed citizens have been reported on both occasions of running unto streets of the capital Port of Spain. The international Airport was also closed as flights were temporally grounded.

The massive tremors measuring over Five and Six on the Richter Scale have affected Water and Electricity supply in many parts of the Republic. Minor damages to many homes, businesses and physical injuries have been reported. Many businesses and public services have closed as a measure of public safety.

RRR comments that the same way the Solar weather affects Weather on this planet ... and now after observation so too does eclipses...whether full or annular...

now POLITICAL- carifesta in shambles

CARIFIASCO

Politricks have dominated the staging of CARIFESTA in Trinidad & Tobago. The blame game is in full swing as those straddled with the responsibility of managing have clearly demonstrated their inability and lack of professionalism.
This is not totally unexpected judging from previous coverage in the recent past by RRR.
Reports of censorship, lack of accommodation, and disorganisation highlight the staging of this regional event. Facilities (many uncompleted) are woefully unacceptable as participants have complained that their needs are not being met. There are several reliable reports that even artwork have been damaged. Bureaucracy also hampered delivery of the delegates and works to venues. The planned bookfair have clearly not catered for local or visiting vendors. National flags of represented islands have not be appropriately displayed.
Delegates are daily complaining of the lack of provision. Clearly the basic tenents of being a good host has been flouted. Caribbean Traditions have been woefully neglected for incompetent political pomposity.

May the ancestors provide those with wisdom
to influence this sad development...
