soweto Uprising 1976

".......The students many of them as young as ten to twelve years were stunned at first looking at the bodies of their fallen classmates... the moaning of the wounded filled the air and there was silence... an deafening silence followed by a rage never before witnessed from such young people with sticks and stones they advanced and attacked the police lines.... despite the police's panic and live volley students advanced nevertheless... Over one hundred died that day 16th June 1976 "
